It is a matter of history that when Supreme Commander of the Allied Forces, General Dwight Eisenhower, found the victims of the death camps, he ordered all possible photographs to be taken, and for the German people from surrounding villages to be ushered through the camps and even made to bury the dead..He did this because he said in words to this effect:
'Get it all on record now - get the films - get the witnesses - because somewhere down the track of history some bastard will get up and say that this never happened. All that is necessary for the triumph of evil, is for good men to do nothing'. This week, the University of Kentucky removed The Holocaust from its school curriculum because it 'offended' the Muslim population which claims it never occurred. This is a frightening portent of the fear that is gripping the world and how easily each country is giving into it.It is now more than 60 years after the Second World War in Europe ended. This e-mail is being sent as a memorial chain, in memory of the 6 million Jews, 20 million Russians, 10 million Christians and 1,900 Catholic priests who were murdered, massacred, raped, burned, starved and humiliated with the German and Russian peoples looking the other way! Now, more than ever, with Iran, among others, claiming the Holocaust to be 'a myth,' it is imperative to make sure the world never forgets.

An honest plea for compassion for all Holocaust victims and survivors would not have ignored these important facts:
1. Holocaust denial is not only prevalent in the USA, it has its deepest roots here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Holocaust_denial 2. Islamic extremists are not the only holocaust deniers. In fact, the vast majority of deniers have been Americans. It seems that hate, bigotry, and thirst for power are universal traits: Notable Holocaust deniers Mahmoud Ahmadinejad Jean-Marie Le Pen Mohammed Mahdi Akef Bela Ewald Althans Harry Elmer Barnes Arthur R. Butz Wendy Campbell Thies Christophersen Doug Collins (journalist) Günter Deckert David Duke François Duprat Robert Faurisson Bobby Fischer Roger Garaudy Hutton Gibson Jürgen Graf Nick Griffin Richard E. Harwood Michael Hoffman II Gerd Honsik David Irving James Keegstra Fred A. Leuchter Norman Lowell Carlo Mattogno Hassan Nasrallah Carl O. Nordling Roeland Raes Ahmed Rami Paul Rassinier Michele Renouf Manfred Roeder Germar Rudolf Bernhard Schaub Israel Shamir Gerald L. K. Smith Wilhelm Stäglich Fredrick Töben Udo Walendy Mark Weber Richard Williamson Ernst Zündel 3. Someone forgot to acknowledge ALL the victims of the Holocaust, which included 100s of thousands of Jehovah's Witnesses, Homosexuals, and Gypsies: http://www.ushmm.org/museum/exhibit/online/hsx/ I have no doubt that the author of the original e-mail, which has now been circulated widely through the internet, had basically good intentions. But the e-mail is filled with inaccuracies, omissions, and partisan political rhetoric. Ironically, it sets out to honor one group of people (Holocaust victims and survivors) while defiling and demonizing many more (all Germans, Russians, Muslims). By the way, Eisenhower never visited Dachau...and UK means "United Kingdom", not "University of Kentucky". Peace. Trackbacks
