THE VALLEY OF HINNOM

"And the whole valley of the dead bodies and of the ashes, and all the fields as far as the Brook Kidron, to the corner of the Horse Gate toward the east, shall be holy to the Lord. It shall not be plucked up or thrown down anymore forever." (Jeremiah 31:40) You shall have a song as in the night when a holy festival is kept, and gladness of heart as when one goes with a flute, to come into the mountain of the Lord, to the Mighty One of Israel. The Lord will cause His glorious voice to be heard, and show the descent of His arm, with the indignation of His anger and the flame of a devouring fire, with scattering, tempest, and hailstones. And in every place where the staff of punishment passes, which the Lord lays on him, it will be with tambourines and harps; and in battles of brandishing He will fight with it. For Tophet (Tophet = Hinnom, Jeremiah 7:31) was established of old, yes, for the king it is prepared. (Isaiah 30:29-30, 32-33a)
There is a reason for our choice of the Hinnom Valley as chief venue for the ICZC celebration during the Feast of Tabernacles. This is the place, according to the prophetic Word of God as recorded in Jeremiah 31:40 and Isaiah 30:29-30, 32-33a, and also according to the testimonies of several believers, where the Lord will do a great work and begin to pour out a double portion - the former and the latter rains - of His Holy Spirit.
A number of brothers have, over the years, seen visions of an amazing outpouring of God's love and Spirit on this place. In each instance the event was connected with a multitude of believers from all over the world - as was the case on the day of Pentecost - all praising and glorifying God for His goodness and mercy. Just recently - after I had already decided that we will hold the majority of our worship meetings in this lowly place (actually it is the lowest valley in and around Jerusalem) - I received a beautiful confirmation by way of Richard Honorof, - a Jewish believer who himself had a similar vision some years ago.He forwarded me the following description of an amazing vision a brother called James recently received during a meeting in Succat Hallel where praise and prayer is offered round the clock for this heavenly breakthrough:
The vision (that I was shown during the 10-12 am worship watch at Succat Hallel on Monday, February 11th, 2008.) There was a huge vacuum-like pipe of heavenly bodies, like clouds with faces in them. [It] went right around the [Ben Hinnom] valley, stretching right up to the heavenly clouds. Inside this pipe, on the inside edges, the heavenly bodies where whirling around at great speeds, forming the cylinder vacuum. There was a spirit of warfare, like a victory celebration reaching up to the heavenlies. Coming down from the top of this pipe were the Lord's feelings of being pleased with His children's praise and worship (that was coming from Succat Hallel) thus sending His heavenly bodies to join us and support the ascending praises up to Him.
"Where I am pleased, things grow and come to life. The worldly people who don't know Me are returning to the (Ben Hinnom) valley because they see the valley alive with the trees, the shrubs, the birds. But my people know My Spirit, My ways." He could see the growth of His vine in the valley, He is well pleased, but there is so much more if your leaders will step out for Him. He wants to anoint the (Ben Hinnom) valley more than we know, if you will call the vine of the valley, His children from around the world, to celebrate Him in praise and worship. Jews from one side of the valley and Arabs from the other side will be drawn to this amazing anointing He will send down from the heavenlies.
I had a clear picture of people from all nations standing all around the valley, arms raised just receiving His blessing in amazement, a true Spirit of His Love. The world has seen nothing like this since Yeshua.James R It is amazing to me that the prophet Ezekiel's vision of the physical and spiritual restoration of Israel also took place in a valley where he saw skeletons or dry bones - so reminiscent of the valley of Hinnom, "the valley of dead bodies and ashes!" It was when the Jewish people were at their lowest point - when their bodies were turned into dry bones and ashes - that the miracle of the return to Zion occurred. Wouldn't it be wonderful if now, when Israel is once more threatened from all sides - with VX nerve gas in Syria's long-range rockets, soon atomic bombs in the hands of the devilish Ahmadinejad, the Hizbollah, the Hamas and the millions upon millions of Muslim Jihadists thirsting for the full extinction of the people of Israel - that God would step in again, blowing with the wind of His Holy Spirit upon the physically-restored people of Israel, in this valley?
In Ezekiel, the spiritual restoration of Israel by the blowing of the wind of the Holy Spirit is prophesied to happen following the physical restoration of Israel. Thus not a great slaughter or tribulation after the physical restoration of Israel, as is erroneously preached in many circles - but a blowing of the wind of God's Spirit upon all the house of Israel. A foreshadowing of that happened already on the day of Pentecost when the Wind of God's Holy Spirit blew and fell on 120 Jews! This time it will happen I believe on the Feast of Tabernacles over all of Israel. This is how the prophet Ezekiel prophesied this wonderful happening:
The hand of the Lord came upon me and brought me out in the Spirit of the Lord, and set me down in the midst of the valley; and it was full of bones. Then He caused me to pass by them all around, and behold, there were very many in the open valley; and indeed they were very dry. And He said to me, "Son of man, can these bones live?" So I answered, "O Lord God, You know." Again He said to me, "Prophesy to these bones, and say to them, 'O dry bones, hear the word of the Lord! Thus says the Lord God to these bones: "Surely I will cause breath to enter into you, and you shall live. I will put sinews on you and bring flesh upon you, cover you with skin and put breath in you; and you shall live. Then you shall know that I am the Lord." ' " So I prophesied as I was commanded; and as I prophesied, there was a noise, and suddenly a rattling; and the bones came together, bone to bone. Indeed, as I looked, the sinews and the flesh came upon them, and the skin covered them over; but there was no breath in them. Also He said to me, "Prophesy to the breath, prophesy, son of man, and say to the breath, 'Thus says the Lord God: "Come from the four winds, O breath, and breathe on these slain, that they may live." ' " So I prophesied as He commanded me, and breath came into them, and they lived, and stood upon their feet, an exceedingly great army. Then He said to me, "Son of man, these bones are the whole house of Israel. They indeed say, 'Our bones are dry, our hope is lost, and we ourselves are cut off!' Therefore prophesy and say to them, 'Thus says the Lord God: "Behold, O My people, I will open your graves and cause you to come up from your graves, and bring you into the land of Israel. Then you shall know that I am the Lord, when I have opened your graves, O My people, and brought you up from your graves. I will put My Spirit in you, and you shall live, and I will place you in your own land. Then you shall know that I, the Lord, have spoken it and performed it," says the Lord.' " (Ezekiel 37:1-14) May we all lower ourselves before Him in repentance and contrition as this valley may exactly - as the lowest point in Jerusalem - be God's chosen place. May we also, being humble and contrite, be recipients of this very outpouring promised for all the house of Israel. And may this indeed happen one day - during the Feast of Tabernacles as we all worship the Lord in spirit and in truth. May it happen over us and over Israel. Amen.Jan Willem van der Hoeven
