([ISRAEL] IHC News Analysis, 06 October 2008) In the 2008 Survey of Patriotism among Israeli Jews, 92% said they were against dividing Israel’s capital, Jerusalem.
The results were the latest in a trend over the past few years showing Israeli Jews’ support for their sovereignty over the holy city in any future peace agreement.
It also proves those who say they have a mandate from the people to relinquish parts of Jerusalem are wrong.
The poll, conducted and published by the Institute for Policy and Strategy at the Herzliya Inter-Disciplinary Center should cause Israeli politicians rethink their strategy over Jerusalem and will affect the current coalition talks.
