Politically, Americans are focused today on the New Hampshire primaries. But geopolitically, the eyes of the nations are fixed on Israel and her neighbors, the epicenter of the momentous events that are shaking our world and shaping our future. President Bush leaves today for Israel and the West Bank where he will spend two days meeting with Prime Minister Olmert and President Mahmoud Abbas. He will then fly to Sharm el-Sheik, Egypt for meetings with President Hosni Mubarak. From there, he heads to Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain and Kuwait. I suspect he will also make an unannounced visit to Baghdad. The trip comes at an important time for the Bush administration. On the positive side, violence in Iraq has plummeted dramatically in the wake of the U.S. military "surge." Violence in Israel is at a seven-year low. Lebanon has not imploded, as has been feared for much of the past year. Syria has not retaliated against Israel for the fall airstrike that took out a North Korean nuclear facility under construction. Severe internal divisions are surfacing within Iran's government, and there are fresh reports that President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad may be losing favor with ... more »

DEAR FELLOW AMERICANS
~~~~~~~~~~~~ THE GOD OF ISRAEL GAVE THE LAND OF ISRAEL TO THE PEOPLE OF ISRAEL ~~~~~~~~~~~~ He judges nations that divide it with hurricanes, floods, wildfires, blizzards, droughts, volcanoes, earthquakes, wars, and cultural, political, social, educational, financial, national and border, and spiritual and moral collapse. “And I will enter into judgment with them [the nations] there on account of My people, My heritage Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations; they have also divided up My land” (Joel 3:2) ~~~~~~~~~~~~ THINK ABOUT IT more »
At least two people were killed Monday night when an army of tornadoes tore across the Midwest United States, just hours before President George W. Bush departed for the Middle East where he plans to put his hand to dividing up the Land of Israel. As many as 37 "rogue" tornadoes - as Fox News described them - fueled by moist air from the south, tore homes from their foundations and knocked railroad cars of their tracks as it rampaged across southwest Missouri, southeastern Wisconsin, Arkansas, Illinois and Oklahoma. The Associated Press described the storms as "a freak cluster of tornados." A sheriff in Wisconsin's Kenosha County, where 11 houses were destroyed, told the news agency he had "never seen damage like this in the summertime when we have potential for tornadoes. "To see something like this in January is mind-boggling to me. This is just unimaginable to me." Weathermen said record warm temperatures were being experienced across much of the United States, and forecast more "wild weather" to come as a result. Many pro-Israel Christians believe that God has and will use "natural" disasters to judge America (and other nations) for trying to steal Israel's land ... more »
It’s been in the news, the details on a large poster that is being plastered up in Jerusalem by Israelis who hope it will either be glimpsed by President George W. Bush as his motorcade sweeps through the capital Wednesday and Thursday, or that at least someone will tell him about it.
The poster shows a large Bible superimposed over the city of Jerusalem. At the top it says, “Bush, Read Your Bible” followed by the words, “God Gave Israel To The Jews.” It is a message being proclaimed by a number of people in this land. The Director of Public Relations for Yeshivat Kiryat Arba, Gary Cooperberg, says in his latest “A Voice from Hebron” newsletter: “Were Bush truly a G-d fearing man, never mind a “friend” of Israel, he would never dare suggest that Israel divide her homeland. “Such a stance is in direct conflict with the Will of G-d,” he continues, adding that unless Bush “rewrites his ‘roadmap’ to coincide with that of the Bible, his efforts will only result in tragedy… not peace.” And in what it termed a “Public Statement of Alarm,” the Israel-based International Christian Zionist Center called upon Bush and Israeli Prime Minister ... more »
Hana Levi Julian(IsraelNN.com) Three people were taken into custody and their literature confiscated as they were handing it out to foreign journalists outside the Dan Panorama Hotel in Jerusalem Wednesday night. The Dan Panorama is where most of the journalists who are covering the Bush visit are lodging.
The literature in question is a booklet authored by Arlene Kushner entitled, "Fatah as 'Moderate': A Hard Look Post-Annapolis, published by the Center for Near East Policy Research at the Beit Agron International Press Center in Jerusalem. The booklet may be viewed in its entirety by clicking here. Plans to distribute the material to foreign journalists were put into place last week as a joint project of the Center and the National Council of Young Israel, a Jewish American organization with chapters in every state. "A number of activists with several organizations were working on assisting the Center to distribute this crucial information to the foreign media," said activist Suzy Dym. "One policeman said we can't stand in front of the hotel, that we should go to the corner, so that's what I did," related Jeff Daube, another volunteer at the site. "I was standing around, waiting to see if any ... more »
HAYDEN, Idaho —
A man who believed he bore the "mark of the beast" used a circular saw to cut off one hand, then he cooked it in the microwave and called 911, authorities said. The man, in his mid-20s, was calm when Kootenai County sheriff's deputies arrived Saturday in this northern Idaho town. He was in protective custody in the mental health unit of Kootenai Medical Center. "It had been somewhat cooked by the time the deputy arrived," sheriff's Capt. Ben Wolfinger said. "He put a tourniquet on his arm before, so he didn't bleed to death. That kind of mental illness is just sad." It was not immediately clear whether the man has a history of mental illness. Hospital spokeswoman Lisa Johnson would not say whether an attempt was made to reattach the hand, citing patient confidentiality. The Book of Revelation in the New Testament contains a passage in which an angel is quoted as saying: "If anyone worships the beast and his image and receives his mark on the forehead or on the hand, he, too, will drink the wine of God's fury." The book of Matthew also contains the passage: "And if your right hand causes ... more »
Iran must bear the consequences of any new confrontation between U.S. and Iranian vessels in the Strait of Hormuz, a senior U.S. official warned on Wednesday. Washington says Iranian boats aggressively approached three U.S. Naval ships in the waterway, a major oil shipping route off Iran's coast, and threatened that the ships would explode. "This was a very provocative act by the Iranians and could have and came very close to resulting in an altercation between our forces and their forces," Stephen Hadley, President George W. Bush's national security adviser. Hadley, traveling with Bush on his first official visit to Israel, said the incident nearly led to an exchange of fire. The United States released a video of the weekend incident, including a recording of what it said was the exchange between the two sides. Iran rejected the footage as fake and accused Washington of trying to stir up tension in the region. "America aims to implement this plan saying Iran has been and is the source of fear in the Middle East," Defense Minister Mostafa Mohammad Najjar was quoted by state television as saying. "Iranian craft always ask other ships to identify themselves and this is ... more »
By Cal Thomas - BELFAST, Northern Ireland. -- Where there are large concentrations of Muslims in England, "no-go" zones are being established and, says the Right Rev. Michael Nazir-Ali, the Church of England's Bishop of Rochester, non-Muslims who "trespass" in such neighborhoods risk attack.
Bishop Nazir-Ali, a native of Pakistan and convert to Christianity, writes in the Sunday Telegraph that a spiritual vacuum in Britain, along with its indifference to the rise of Islamic extremism and a growing "multi-faith" society, is robbing the nation of its Christian identity and putting its future in jeopardy. He is not alone. A poll of the General Synod — the Church's parliament — shows its senior leaders also believe Britain is being damaged by uncontrolled immigration. Bishop Nazir-Ali warns of attempts to give Britain an increasingly Islamic character by introducing the call to prayer and wider use of Shariah law, a legal system based on the Koran. He is critical of the government response to immigration and the influx of "people of other faiths to these shores," blaming the government's "novel philosophy of multiculturalism" for allowing society to become deeply divided and accusing ministers of lacking a "moral and spiritual vision." Court decides in favor of British Airways in discrimination suit
Nadia Eweida (Courtesy London Daily Mail) A Christian British Airways employee who sued the company after it required her to cover up a cross necklace while on the job has lost her discrimination suit, but she vows to return to work tomorrow wearing the cross. As WND reported, Heathrow check-in worker Nadia Eweida, who is a Coptic Christian and whose father is Egyptian and mother English, was sent home after refusing to remove the cross, which British Airways claimed violated its dress code. Eweida, who was placed on unpaid leave, sued her employer, charging religious discrimination, since the company allowed employees of other religions, such as Islam and Hinduism, to wear faith-related items, including clothing, jewelry and religious markings. The suit continued despite the airline loosening its cross prohibition last year. An attorney affiliated with the Alliance Defense Fund represented Eweida in court. "Christian employees should not be singled out for discrimination. This decision will be appealed," said ADF Chief Counsel Benjamin Bull, in a statement. "According to British Airways, it's OK for employees to wear a symbol of their faith unless it's a Christian cross. The airline took no ... more »
A couple of weeks ago, I wrote a column for WorldNetDaily questioning both the content and the timing of the National Intelligence Estimate that concluded "with high confidence" that Iran suspended its nuclear program in 2003.
During his tenure as President George W. Bush's defense secretary, Donald Rumsfeld often likened the administration's foreign policy decisions to those of the Truman administration during the first years of the Cold War. As President George W. Bush makes his way to Israel, the Palestinian Authority, Egypt, Saudi Arabia and the Gulf states with a stated agenda of advancing the goal of Palestinian statehood, it is worth examining president Truman's achievements and comparing them with those of President Bush. President Harry S Truman was in some ways an accidental president. Elected vice president in Franklin Delano Roosevelt's fourth term in office, he assumed the presidency when Roosevelt died in April 1945, a month before the Allied victory in Europe and four months before the surrender of Imperial Japan. As the war wound down, Truman was quick to understand the threat that Soviet imperialism and communist ideology posed to US national security. A world dominated by communism was a world in which America, as the beacon of human freedom and liberty, could not be safe. Consequently, he recognized that the rising Cold War between the Soviet Union and the US would be the defining contest of ... more » |
