Psalms 137:5-6
If I forget thee, O Jerusalem, let my right hand forget her cunning. 6 If I do not remember thee,
let my tongue cleave to the roof of my mouth; if I prefer not Jerusalem above my chief joy. Many of you may have read last week that the Yisrael Beiteinu party has resigned from Olmert’s coalition government. If the Shas party follows suit, then Olmert will likely be toppled.
After President Bush’s recent visit, it is apparent that Jerusalem, Judea and Samaria are all on the chopping block. For us, this is a biblical issue, not a political issue. If these things proceed, thousands of Israeli people will be uprooted from the land on which they make their homes, land that has been promised to them by the God of Israel. Many of our most sacred Christian holy sites will become part of the new Palestinian state that even now is in process of being established.
Gush Katif was a shadow of things to come. God in His mercy has allowed us to have a “sneak preview” of what life will be like for any Israelis unfortunate enough to within the pre 67 borders.. For many of us, these wounds are still open. We look back to see what we could have done differently, and we resolve to take action now that will help forestall another Gush Katif from ever happening again. We stand on God’s covenant promises to the Jewish people, making them our firm foundation and the basis for our action.
Now is the time to e-mail members of the Shas party to encourage them to take a Biblical stand and protect the holy city of Jerusalem from being divided. The prophet Joel says that God will come against those who dare to divide His land, the land promised to His covenant people. Remind them of this, and that the fate of Jerusalem may be in their hands.
The children of Sderot lives are being effected daily both psychological and physically with no intervention from this present government.
I have attached several e-mail addresses below. If we can mobilize enough responders, we will be heard. We are not political, so please base your messages on Biblical principles as you shower these people with your love and encouragement. Remind them of God’s promises and let your support of the Biblical mandate for Jerusalem be your primary focus.
