View Article  The Bomb in the Bag

It wasn’t really a bomb, don’t worry. You are safe. We were safe. Then we laughed.I’d almost gotten to the front of the line, thinking about what to make the children for lunch, when I realized that the man behind the counter at the Postal Bank Section was calling out, “Shel mi zeh hasakit?”Whose bag is that? The question echoed down an empty corridor in my mind, I’ve heard it many times before. Whose bag is that? In other words, the owner of that bag must now appear and claim it and take it away so we can be restored to whatever it is we have to do right now. But no one stepped forth. Therefore, someone must have forgotten his bag, and that person will come running back to the Post Office on Jaffa Street, my eyes were traveling to the people in line behind me, and entered into the gaze of 1) a bearded priest with a floor-length black robe and one of those tasseled, oval black hats, 2) a young woman with blonde hair straight to her shoulder, maybe a Scandinavian tourist, 3) six or seven Israelis, of whom I now have no memory, 4) a sixtyish ...   more »

View Article  2007: Record year for North American aliyah

VIDEO) Thousands to make aliyah from United States and Canada during summer
VIDEO - About 230 new olim from the United States and Canada are expected to arrive in Israel next Tuesday on a flight organized by the Nefesh B'Nefesh organization. Upon their arrival at Ben Gurion Airport, the newcomers will be received by a welcoming ceremony with the participation of hundreds of citizens who have already made aliyah from North America in recent years.
Over the past five years, the number of olim from the United States and Canada has increased by about 80 percent. According to data by the Nefesh B’Nefesh organization, over 3,500 people will make aliyah from North America during the summer of 2007.The Aliyah Department of the Jewish Agency for Israel is anticipating that immigration to Israel from North America will increase between 5 and 10 percent this year, marking the highest year for aliyah from North America in 25 years. In 2006, 3,200 residents of the US and Canada formally became Israeli citizens, the highest figure since 1983.Cooperation between the Jewish Agency and Nefesh B'Nefesh, however, has been discontinued due to differences between the two organizations, which have worked together on bringing olim to Israel ...   more »

View Article  Syria: IDF is Training for War in Golan

(IsraelNN.com) The Syrian government says it does not believe that a major IDF military exercise carried out in the Golan Heights this week was part of routine training. An analyst on Syrian government radio said Wednesday that Israel is not interested in peace. “Since Olmert said specifically that he is unwilling to enter into a dialogue with Syria and senior American officials reiterate the same statements,” he said, “we are unable to believe his lies.”In addition, the editor of the official daily Al-Thawra newspaper wrote the same day that Syria expects Israel to attack at any time.

View Article  Iranian Missiles Could Threaten Israel from Syria

by Hillel Fendel
(IsraelNN.com) Iran is planning to deploy, in Syria, missiles that can hit Israel, as a deterrent against a Western anti-nuclear strike upon Iran.  It could happen soon, the British newspaper Telegraph reports. An agreement to this effect was signed two years ago between Iranian President Ahmedinajad and Syrian dictator Bashar Assad.  The rockets in question are the Shihab-3, Scud-B, and Scud-C, which can reach any part of the State of Israel.  They can be fired from mobile launchers. Ahmedinajad announced earlier this year that if his country feels threatened regarding its nuclear program, Israel will become its first military counter-target.The Shihab-3 is a medium-range ballistic missile with a range of over 2,000 kilometers.  It has the ability to change its trajectory more than once in mid-course, protecting it significantly against Israel's anti-ballistic missile Arrow system.  The Scud missiles have a range of 300 to 600 kilometers, and are less accurate than the Shihab.MK Ephraim Sneh (Labor), a two-time Deputy Defense Minister who was succeeded this week by Matan Vilnai, warned at his farewell ceremony that Israel is not prepared for the dangers Iran presents. He charged the Olmert government with not providing enough funding, saying he is "not ...   more »

View Article  45 Muslim doctors plotted attack on U.S

With doctors in custody over attempted terrorist attacks in London and Glasgow, British police have now discovered a group of 45 Muslim doctors threatened an attack in the U.S. with car bombs and rocket grenades. The threat was found in an Internet chat room run by Younis Tsouli, 23, of London, one of three members of a "cyber-terrorist" gang, according to the Daily Telegraph of London. One message read: "We are 45 doctors and we are determined to undertake jihad and take the battle inside America.

"The first target which will be penetrated by nine brothers is the naval base which gives shelter to the ship Kennedy." The reference apparently is to the USS John F. Kennedy and its home port, the Mayport Naval Base in Jacksonville, Fla., the Telegraph said. The message discussed targets at the base, including gasoline tanks and "clubs for naked women." It also referred to using six Chevrolet GT vehicles and three fishing boats to carry out the attacks. Tsouli was sentenced today with Tariq Daour, a biochemistry student, and Waseem Mughal, a law student, for between six-and-a-half and 10 years in the first case of ...   more »

View Article  Islam's Global War against Christianity

By Patrick Poole-From Nigeria to Indonesia, Christians are under siege in virtually every single country in the Muslim world, the victims of countless acts of discrimination, depredation, brutality, and murder that are so widespread and systematic that it can rightfully be called the new Holocaust. This time, however, the perpetrators of this Holocaust aren't wearing swastikas, but kufi skull caps and hijabs.
Some of the oldest Christian communities in the world are subject to relentless attack and teeter on the brink of extinction at the hands of the "Religion of Peace": Palestinian Christians in Gaza and the West Bank; Assyrian, Syriac and Chaldean Christians in Iraq; Coptic Christians in Egypt; Evangelical and Orthodox Christians in Eastern Ethiopia and Eritrea; Armenian Orthodox Christians in Turkey; and Maronite Christians in Lebanon. Several of these communities date back to the beginning decades of Christianity and all have weathered wave after wave of Islamic persecution for centuries and more, but in the very near future some will simply cease to exist. In our lifetime, the only trace of their past existence will be in footnotes in history books (and probably only Western history books at that).
Meanwhile, we in the West hear much from ...   more »

View Article  NEA donates thousands to pro-homosexual activist groups, pushes for 'hate crimes' law

The 2.8 million-member liberal teacher's union is meeting in Philadelphia for its annual convention, which wraps up Thursday. The NEA's Sexual Orientation and Gender Identification Committee has called on the union to "develop public and member support" for the passage of federal hate crimes legislation, the Employment Non-Discrimination Act, and other measures that award homosexuals with special protected status. The committee is expressing frustration over what it calls "the continuing lack of empirical or even anecdotal data on the experiences and the rate of harassment" against GLBT (gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender) school personnel. At the same time, it also wants the NEA to expand its existing GLBT web page and "develop and implement a marketing and communications strategy to enhance the visibility of GLBT issues."Diane Gramley, who heads the American Family Association of Pennsylvania, says the union has made a concerted effort to support and promote homosexuality including contributing $5,000 to the Gay and Lesbian Alliance against Defamation and $10,000 the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force."When you look at surveys, we see that people ages 18-25 are much more tolerable to the concepts of same-sex marriage and homosexual relationships," says Gramley, "and I believe the results of that are because ...   more »

View Article  New Bible for the Gay Community

Author Tim Fleming Offers a Free Download of a New Version of the Bible for the Gay Community San Diego, CA (PRWEB) February 14, 2007 -- This is a new version of the Holy Bible that includes the New Testament, along with a new book entitled God's New Law, which was introduced in the year 2000. This book contains testimony of prophecy fulfilled, prophecy to be, and the decommissioning of traditional religion so that God may dwell with all those who believe. God's New Law is meant to be the last book of the Bible and to herald the birth of God's religion without doctrine.Starting with the witnessing of Christ, the author, Tim Fleming, claims that, in the year 2000, God tested one of his begotten and realized the value of forgiving those who are willing to forgive, and He has therefore offered salvation to the homosexual community for the sacrifices they have made through mental anguish. The first book of God's New Law, "The Journal," is a description of the re-creation of man beyond Revelations that attempts to illustrate what the enlightened students of God's kingdoms prescribe. The second book, "The Victory," describes how an act of vengeance by the ...   more »
