Solve the Palestinian refugee problem
by

Rabbi MK Benny Elon
Last week was a difficult time for the ingenious engineers of Oslo and the disengagement. They suffered many sleepless nights tossing and turning, their liberal consciences heavy. How could they sleep when Gaza was burning and the vision of an independent Palestinian state was being engulfed in the flames? The lack of sleep must have clouded their judgment - they saw it fit to ally with the “good gangsters”, Dahlan and Abbas who prefer to shoot their brothers in the knees as opposed to the “bad gangsters”, Hamas who shoot their brothers in the back. The infighting among the Palestinians and the resulting deaths of countless of innocent men, women and children has reached new levels of intolerability. We must heed this violent wake up call to re-evaluate the issue at the core of the conflict- the Palestinian refugee situation. We have avoided resolving the refugee problem by hiding the refugees behind walls and like a ticking bomb waiting to explode; the refugee situation threatens to blow up in our faces. More than two-thirds of Gaza residents now live in filthy refugee camps and by allowing things to continue as they are we are allowing the ... more »

Quartet to come calling

By Stan Goodenough
Representatives of the four parties to the so-called Quartet are
expected to arrive in Jerusalem Tuesday to try and make hay at the
Jews’ expense while the sun purportedly shines on the land-for-peace
process – thanks to Hamas.
They are being described as “low level” envoys, but the meeting of
these individuals – representing the United States, Russia, the United
Nations and the European Union – will still be geared towards pushing
forward the international community’s plan to rob the Jews of half of
their homeland for the creation of a Palestinian state.
The Jerusalem get-together will take place a day after Israeli Prime
Minister Ehud Olmert and Palestinian Authority chairman Mahmoud Abbas
meet at a summit being convened by Egypt’s Hosni Mubarak – a man who,
despite his country’s peace agreement with Israel, has consistently
nurtured a deep hatred of the Jewish state.
The Quartet has been spurred on by the Hamas coup d’etat in Gaza
earlier this month that saw the Islamist terrorist organization take
power from its sister but secular terrorist movement – Abbas’ Fatah
faction of the PLO.
According to news agencies quoting a spokesman for the Quartet’s
Russian component, the purpose of ... more »

Israel's Military Intelligence Chief Warns of War This Summer
by

on Mon 25 Jun 2007 10:55 AM CDT
Israel’s military intelligence chief warned Sunday that Israel is on
the brink of a war that could break out as early as this summer.
Major General Amos Yadlin told the Israeli Cabinet that several factors
were moving the nation toward war.
According to the Jerusalem Post, Yadlin cited Iran, Hizbullah, Hamas,
World Jihad, and Syria who the paper quoted Yadlin as saying "are all
actively working against Israel, and may force a conflict as early as
this summer.”
"Any one of these authorities can bring about a deterioration in the
situation this summer," Yadlin said.
Yadlin’s comments come as the militant Islamic faction of the PLO, the
Hamas terror network, has taken control over Gaza and is battling with
the moderate wing Fatah for control of the West Bank.
Along Israel's northern border, Iran’s backing of Hizbullah in Lebanon
has added more worry for Israel.
Syria, which also shares a border with Israel, appears to be preparing
for a major conflict.
Earlier this month Britain's London Telegraph reports that Israeli
officials believe that Syria is preparing for a major war against the
Jewish state.
"Israeli intelligence officials have been warning for weeks that Syria
is investing hundreds of millions of ... more »

Iran Establishes Missile Defense Shield in Syria

By CON COUGHLIN
Iran is deploying missiles in Syria in preparation for military action
if it is attacked over its nuclear program, U.N. officials in the
region said.
Under a mutual defense pact signed between Damascus and Tehran in 2005,
Syria agreed to the deployment of sophisticated weaponry on its
territory.
The Iranians have now decided to implement the agreement following a
meeting last month of Iran's Supreme National Security Council, which
is chaired by a former president, Ali Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani.
Iran is preparing to transfer dozens of medium-range Shahab-3 and
Russian-made Scud-C missiles, together with Scud-B missiles. Most of
the missiles can be fired from mobile launchers and are capable of
hitting targets right across Israel.
" Iran is preparing itself for the possibility of military action over
its nuclear program," a senior U.N. official in Lebanon said.
"If Iran is attacked then this will give it a number of retaliation
options."
U.N. officials said work on the new missile storage facilities will
begin next month and will take about a year to complete.
Besides shipping the weapons, Iran has also sent missile engineers to
help to train the Syrian military and Hezbollah, the Lebanese Shiite
Muslim group ... more »

Al-Zawahri urges Sharia law in Gaza

Al-Qaida's deputy leader called on Muslims around the world to back
Hamas with weapons, money and attacks on US and Israeli interests in a
Web audiotape Monday, urging the Palestinian militant group to unite
with al-Qaida's "holy warriors" after its takeover of Gaza.
The message from Ayman al-Zawahri, who is Osama bin Laden's top deputy,
marked a major shift by al-Qaida, which in the past criticized Hamas
for joining a government with the US-supported Fatah faction.
The audiotape was clearly made after Hamas's takeover of Gaza earlier
this month, marking a rapid response from al-Qaida's top leadership to
the events. Its authenticity could not be independently confirmed, but
it was posted on a Web forum where al-Zawahri has issued messages in
the past.
Al-Zawahri urged Hamas to implement Islamic law in Gaza, telling it,
"Taking over power is not a goal but a means to implement God's word on
earth."
"Unite with mujahedeen (holy warriors) in Palestine ... and with all
mujahedeen in the world in the face of the upcoming attack where
Egyptians and Saudis are expected to play part of it," he added,
suggesting that the two countries intend to attack Hamas to uproot its
control of Gaza. ... more »

What Is Sharia law

Susie Steiner explains the Islamic legal system which has sentenced a
Nigerian woman to be stoned to death
Why is sharia law in the news?
An Islamic court in Nigeria yesterday upheld a sentence of death by
stoning for a woman accused of adultery. The case is the latest in a
series of sentences passed under sharia law - a set of religious laws
adopted over the past two years in northern regions of Nigeria, which
have predominantly Muslim inhabitants.
Sharia law, which derives from the teachings of the Koran and from
Sunna (the practice of the prophet Mohammed), is implemented to varying
degrees in different Islamic countries - from the beheadings of Saudi
Arabia, to the relatively liberal social mores of Malaysia.
What is sharia?
The word sharia means "the path to a watering hole". It denotes an
Islamic way of life that is more than a system of criminal justice.
Sharia is a religious code for living, in the same way that the Bible
offers a moral system for Christians.
It is adopted by most Muslims to a greater or lesser degree as a matter
of personal conscience, but it can also be formally instituted as law

THE SECOND AMENDMENT AND MENTAL DISORDERS

Last week mainstream media announced that Congress (U.S. House of
Representatives) passed a bill that would potentially close a gaping
loophole in the federal gun laws — a loophole that allowed people with
mental disorders, such as the Virginia Tech gunman, to obtain guns. The
new law would provide monetary enticements for states (and penalties
against states who refused) to submit mental records to the federal
National Instant Criminal Background Check System used to do background
checks on prospective gun owners. The old carrot and stick philosophy.
Mainstream media made quite a “thing” of the fact that this legislation
was passed with the help of the National Rifle Association. Wayne
LaPierre was shown, front and center, on CBS being interviewed about
this new legislation which he deemed good for “law-abiding citizens.”
Really?
In the aftermath of the President’s New Freedom Commission on Mental
Health, a move is afoot nationwide to screen every man, woman and child
for mental health. Ads abound on television encouraging people to be
screened. Articles in parenting magazines advocate mental health
screening and prevention to unwitting parents. Mike Wallace tells us to
get help for depression, we won’t be ... more »

Police storm Christian's home

Earlier this year WND reported on plans by Iranian President Mahmoud
Ahmadinejad to "pave the path for the glorious reappearance of Imam
Mahdi," and now confirmed reports from Voice of the Martyrs reveals
that the persecution of Christians in Iran is intensifying.
WND reported that Ahmadinejad is urging Iranians to prepare for the
coming of the Mahdi by turning the country into a mighty and advanced
Islamic society and by avoiding the corruption and excesses of the
West. Shiites believe the 12th imam disappeared as a child in the year
941, but when he returns he will reign on earth for seven years, before
bringing about a final judgment and the end of the world.
Voice of the Martyrs, which makes available a newsletter providing
updates on the persecution of Christians around the world, says in a
new report Christians in Iran "are being detained, interrogated and in
one case, imprisoned because of their faith in Jesus Christ."
"This new wave of persecution is coming against Christians that meet to
worship God in the privacy of their homes," VOM said its sources
revealed. "We have confirmed reports that several believers have been
interrogated and one house was stormed by ... more »

New World Order Evolving

By Ivan Simic
The term "New World Order" (Novus Ordo Mundi) has been used to refer to
a new period of history evidencing a dramatic change in world political
thought and the balance of power.
When we talk about New World Order we can say that everything is about
hegemony and dominance of stronger countries over others. If we look
back through history we can recount various attempts of several
countries to create a New World Order or some sort of dominance among
countries. Some of these attempts were led by great warriors such as,
Alexander the Great (Macedonian Empire), Julius Caesar (Roman Empire),
Genghis Khan (Mongol Empire), Napoleon Bonaparte (French Empire), Adolf
Hitler, among others. From this we can see that every attempt to rule
the world was needless and devastating.
We heard many theories and conspiracy theories about the New World
Order, some of which include the USA and the UK wanting to form the
Federal World Government, or the Illuminati (The People of The Light)
believing that they are masterminds behind events that will lead to a
New World Order, or that the Freemasons are involved in the conspiracy
to create a New World Order, or that ... more »

Bill paves way for Canada's 'disappearance'

Lawmakers in Canada appear to be paving the way for "deep integration"
with the U.S. and Mexico with a proposed measure that advances the
controversial Security and Prosperity Partnership of North America
promoted by the Bush administration, notes WND columnist Jerome Corsi.
It's an issue Corsi has fully investigated for his newest book, "The
Late Great USA."
The conservative minority government of Prime Minister Stephen Harper
is pressing for "The Trade, Investment and Labour Mobility Agreement",
which would enable a Canadian company to challenge laws in provinces
that block the North American Free Trade Agreement.
Murray Dobbin, a Vancouver author and journalist critical of SPP,
argued in an article titled, "The Plan to Disappear Canada – 'Deep
Integration' comes out of the shadows," the secretive trilateral
bureaucratic working groups organized under the auspices of SPP are
"harmonizing" virtually every important area of public policy with the
U.S., including "defense, foreign policy, energy (they get security, we
get greenhouse gases), culture, social policy, tax policy, drug testing
and safety and much more."
The proposed legislation would allow companies that believe provincial
laws and regulations harm their NAFTA rights to demand up to $5 million
in compensatory damages for each violation.
