View Article  If my people
If My people who are called by My name humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, will forgive their sin and will heal their land. Now My eyes will be open and My ears attentive to the prayer offered in this place.' 2 Chronicles 7:14-15
This past week, Rabbi Eliyahu Leon Levi said the following, ''We are on the brink of redemption, and a great war is coming. Whoever doesn't prepare himself spiritually is at great risk. A person must turn to G-d in prayer and cry and confess his wrongdoings, and rectify his ways.' Arutz Sheva, April 6, 2007
King Solomon spoke the same words to the Jewish people thousands of years ago in 2 Chronicles 7:14-15. Our G-d is a merciful G-d, and he has provided a way for us to return to Him, be cleansed from our sins, and be saved from our enemies. The way of the Lord Scripture says, 'If we humble ourselves and pray, and we turn from our wicked ways, then and only then will our G-d hear from heaven, forgive our sin, and heal our land.

View Article  How to outlaw Christianity
C.S. Lewis, the former atheist and famous Oxford scholar, once said, "Atheism turns out to be too simple. If the whole universe has no meaning, we should never have found out that it has no meaning. ..."
There are a myriad of eminent scholars (like Lewis) who understand the folly of atheism. I will list a few others in this second part of my treatise to expose atheists' agenda to ban Christianity from the courts of culture. In my last article I discussed "step 1" of their plan. In this discourse I will address steps 2 and 3.
Step 2: Target younger generations with atheism
Atheists are making a concerted effort to win the youth of America and the world. Hundreds of websites and blogs on the Internet seek to convince and convert adolescents, endeavoring to remove any residue of theism from their minds and hearts by packaging atheism as the choice of a new generation. While you think your kids are innocently surfing the Web, secular progressives are intentionally preying on their innocence and naïveté.
What's preposterous is that atheists are now advertising and soliciting on websites particularly created for teens. The London Telegraph noted that, "Groups including Atheists ...   more »
View Article  Monkey dead from bubonic plague in Denver
DENVER (Reuters) - A Denver Zoo monkey has died of bubonic plague, apparently after eating a squirrel stricken with the disease, Colorado health and zoo officials said on Monday.
Five squirrels and a rabbit found dead on zoo grounds tested positive for the flea-borne disease in recent weeks, Denver Zoo spokeswoman Ana Bowie said.
Zookeepers on May 15 noticed the 8-year-old hooded capuchin monkey was lethargic, and the next day it was found dead in its enclosure. Zoo veterinarians sent tissue samples to a state laboratory where it was determined the animal died of the plague. The death was announced on Monday.
Zoo veterinarian Dave Kenny said that the risk of plague spreading to humans was extremely low but that visitors were being urged to avoid squirrels and rabbits.
"There are species in the zoo collection, especially monkeys, that could be susceptible to the plague," said John Pape, an epidemiologist with the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment.
Bowie said none of the 17 other capuchin monkeys in the exhibit -- or any other animals at the zoo -- have shown plague symptoms. But as a precaution, all the capuchin monkeys have been moved to an inside enclosure and ...   more »

A question mark hangs over the opening of New York City's planned Arabic-language school, the Khalil Gibran International Academy.
That the topic remains open is surprising. Other than objections from a few of us – the New York Sun's editorialists, its columnist Alicia Colon, the investigative team of Beila Rabinowitz and William A. Meyer, plus my own article and blog on this subject – the school enjoys unflagging support. The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation helps pay for it. The mayor's office, the Anti-Defamation League, and the United Federation of Teachers endorse it. Newspaper coverage from the New York Times, New York Daily News, Brooklyn Daily Eagle, and International Herald Tribune attempts to discredit us opponents, sometimes stooping to distort our arguments.
Even the parents at two locations who protested KGIA's being placed in their children's buildings speak not of the school's personnel and curriculum, only of such issues of insufficient schoolroom space and the mixing of older students with younger ones. As one of them put it, "Our issue is not with the substance of ...   more »
View Article  Nuclear terrorism: Coming to a city near you?
Here we go again. Iran is now in open defiance of the U.N. Security demands to immediately halt the enrichment of uranium. Thirteen-hundred confirmed centrifuges spin 24/7 producing material to build bombs. Iran hopes to have 3,000 doing the same by June, and what does the world do? Nothing!
This scenario has an all too familiar ring to it, and we best be careful, or else the largest state sponsor of terror may acquire nuclear capabilities.
Saddam Hussein faced 17 Security Council resolutions and did nothing to comply. In fact, he made every effort to ignore and defy the world. Of course, now many critics of the current administration claim Saddam was no threat to the U.S.
Do they now feel the same about Iran? If not what are they willing to do to stop a nation of people whom enjoy killing each other almost as much as they enjoy killing Jews and Americans?
I did a quick search and came up with 34 major terrorist acts suspected of, or inspired by, al-Qaida since 1993. That is when the first attack on the World Trade Center took six innocent lives. In 1996, the Khobar Towers came down, killing 19 Americans. ...   more »
View Article  An Immigration Shipwreck in Sight
by Newt Gingrich
The announcement last week that the White House and a group of senators have reached an agreement on "comprehensive immigration reform" should have the same effect that the word "iceberg" had on the passengers and crew of the Titanic.
This proposed agreement is a disaster of the first order, and it will severely cripple America for the foreseeable future.
You can tell how bad this bill is by the Senate Democratic leadership's announced goal of trying to pass it before the Memorial Day weekend.
Remember, this bill has not yet been finished. Senators and their staffs were still negotiating over the weekend and many key items were still in confusion. So here's what we have to do:
TODAY'S ACTION ITEM:
CALL YOUR SENATORS AND LET THEM KNOW HOW ANGRY YOU WILL BE IF THEY PASS A BILL BEFORE IT HAS BEEN PRINTED AND PUT ON THE INTERNET AND EXPOSED FOR THE COUNTRY TO READ AND UNDERSTAND.
75 Reasons to Oppose the New Immigration Bill
When the FBI arrested six terrorists in New Jersey two weeks ago it turned out that three of them had been in the U.S. illegally for at least TWENTY years.
These three had ...   more »
View Article  Iran's secret plan for summer offensive to force US out of Iraq
Iran is secretly forging ties with al-Qaida elements and Sunni Arab militias in Iraq in preparation for a summer showdown with coalition forces intended to tip a wavering US Congress into voting for full military withdrawal, US officials say.
"Iran is fighting a proxy war in Iraq and it's a very dangerous course for them to be following. They are already committing daily acts of war against US and British forces," a senior US official in Baghdad warned. "They [Iran] are behind a lot of high-profile attacks meant to undermine US will and British will, such as the rocket attacks on Basra palace and the Green Zone [in Baghdad]. The attacks are directed by the Revolutionary Guard who are connected right to the top [of the Iranian government]."
The official said US commanders were bracing for a nationwide, Iranian-orchestrated summer offensive, linking al-Qaida and Sunni insurgents to Tehran's Shia militia allies, that Iran hoped would trigger a political mutiny in Washington and a US retreat. "We expect that al-Qaida and Iran will both attempt to increase the propaganda and increase the violence prior to Petraeus's report in September [when the US commander General David Petraeus will report to Congress on ...   more »
View Article  The Wedding Season
by Rabbi Ephraim Nisenbaum
Renewing your nuptial vows this Shavuot.
When our daughter got married, I knew her wedding would be a special experience for many of our friends who had never seen an Orthodox Jewish wedding before, but I hadn't realized just how special it would be. Bob told me beforehand that he had heard from others about the separate dancing for the men and the women, and I had described to him how people attend Orthodox weddings not merely to enjoy themselves, but to create joy for the bride and groom too. But nothing really prepared him for the gamut of intense emotion that seemed to pervade the whole atmosphere.
He was amazed how the mood of the crowd could jump so quickly, from one minute to the next. Teary eyes and sniffling accompanied the solemn music as the bride slowly walked down the aisle towards her husband-to-be. You could hear a pin drop as she circled him under the canopy seven times, tightly holding on to the hands of my wife and her new mother-in-law. But then, moments later, as the ceremony came to a close and the groom smashed the cup in remembrance of the Temple's ...   more »

US says Israel has right to defend itself / Reuters
State Department spokesman urges restraint on all sides, but praises Jewish state for 'great restraint' in recent days and says it has right to respond to rocket attacks from Hamas. President Bush expresses his concern over Gaza violence
In the statement, Ban also expressed his concern of Palestinian infighting, saying he hoped the present ceasefire would hold and calling on the Palestinian Authority to "take the necessary steps to restore law and order, and for all factions to abide by the ceasefire."
Ban also held the Palestinians accountable for firing rockets at Israel's civilian population, calling these attacks "completely unacceptable" and saying they were in violation of international law.
The statement added that the UN chief recognized Israel's right to defend itself, but that he ...   more »
