The Quartet envoy to the parts of Israel occupied by the Palestinian Arabs Tuesday encouraged Christians to visit the PLO-controlled and Muslim-occupied town of Bethlehem for Christmas, so that their dollars too could flow into the PLO's war chest.
Visiting Bethlehem is quite safe, former British Prime Minister Tony Blair, stressed. "There is no reason for people not to come here and stay overnight, which I am doing tonight."
The historical birth town of Jesus Christ was handed over to the Jew- and Christian-hating PLO in December 1995. Arch terrorist Yasser Arafat correctly saw the town as a massive moneymaker for his organization as long as it was able to attract tens of thousands of Christian tourists.
A devoted Muslim - whose religion regards Jesus as a prophet of lesser stature than Mohammed - Arafat nevertheless made sure he attended midnight mass on Christmas Eve, where the Roman Catholic clergy gave him a royal welcome.
Unable to restrain their hatred for Christians and their loyalty to Allah, however, Muslim "Palestinians" terrorized the indigenous Christian Arab majority into fleeing the town, which is today almost entirely owned and occupied by Muslim Arabs.
Despite this near-total takeover of Jesus' birthplace, the PLO still hopes to be able to entice Christian visitors in order to milk them this year.
Blair, committed to helping the terror group establish its "institutions of government," urged foreign governments to revise their travel advisories which might discourage tourism to the "Holy Land."
"In respect to restrictions on movement and access in this part of Palestine, I think what happens here in Bethlehem will be an important test," he said.
Blair's easy reference to Bethlehem as being in "part of Palestine" underscores the already established position of the international community that this fictitious state is a reality and that the land no longer belongs to the Jewish people.
The Bible, also in the context of Jesus' babyhood days, describes Bethlehem as being in the "land of Israel" (see Matthew 2:20-21).
