Jerusalem (CNSNews.com) - Israeli lawmakers have honored Christian groups in Jerusalem, for their work among needy Israelis. At a gathering on Sunday, the Knesset Christian Allies Caucus (KCAC) and the World Jewish Congress highlighted theYuri & Malcolm importance of Jewish-Christian relations. "The World Jewish Congress sees the Christian community worldwide as natural allies in our struggle against anti-Semitism and hatred and in favor of justice and freedom," Bobby Brown, executive director of the WJC, said in a statement. KCAC and WJC gave thanks to Bridges for Peace, Christian Friends of Israel, the East Gate Foundation, Christian Friends of Israeli Communities and the International Christian Embassy Jerusalem for their participation in a joint project, which donated and distributed school bags with school supplies to 16,000 Israeli first graders. ICEJ Executive Director Malcolm Hedding said that projects like this had helped thousands of Israelis. "We look forward to a growing relationship with positive consequences for the people of Israel," Hedding said. Christian Zionist groups bring thousands of tourists and pilgrims to Israel each year. They support Israel's right to the Biblical Land of Israel.
