Petitioners against the razing of Gaza synagogues are making every
effort to leave the religious sites in place even after the IDF pulls
out of the Gaza Strip.
Ahead of a hearing at the High Court of Justice on the matter,
petitioners' representatives have made contact with the Vatican and
with the New York office of UN Secretary General Kofi Annan in an
attempt to foil the plan, the petitioners' attorney, Gilad Corinaldi,
told The Jerusalem Post on Sunday.
A senior Muslim religious leader in Gaza was also approached in an
effort to persuade him to issue a decree forbidding Muslims to
desecrate the synagogues, "just like they would not want non-Muslims to
desecrate a mosque," Corinaldi added.

TEL AVIV [MENL] -- Israel's military has begun to prepare for the
prospect of missile and rocket attacks from two fronts.
Israeli military sources said Hizbullah and Palestinian groups have coordinated in an effort to launch simultaneous missile and rocket strikes from both the Gaza Strip and Lebanon. The sources said Hizbullah has deployed Katyusha and other rockets and mortars for strikes that would precede or follow those by Palestinian groups in the Gaza Strip. Read More

CWNews.com – Christians worldwide are praying for the nation of Israel.
There is a spiritual link between Korean Christians and Israel. The
Israeli pullout from Gaza and northern Samaria has been difficult for
Jews and for Christians worldwide. Many believe it strengthens Israel's
enemies and will lead to greater violence. So some Christians are
taking an extra step to show public support for Israel.
![]() The Orient and the Middle East came together in Seoul, Korea as nearly 500 pastors from Korean churches joined with Jewish political leaders from Jerusalem for a two-day Summit called Asia II. This gathering of Jews and Christians was intended, as was the first, to open a dialog between the two faiths. Korean Christian members of the National Assembly spoke and held meetings with their counterparts from the Israeli Parliament. Many of the Korean pastors have a Bible-view understanding of Israel, but knew less about the contemporary situation. They wanted to pray effectively. By the end of this conference, the delegates knew a great deal more, so they could fully support a joint declaration, a resolution. Read More Thursday, August 25

1:00 a.m. Eastern By Aaron Klein © 2005 WorldNetDaily.com TEL AVIV – Explaining they have nowhere to go until the Israeli government organizes their living situation, former residents of a large farming community in Jewish Gaza moved into tents yesterday just off the main highway in Tel Aviv. Expelled residents of Nezer Hazani, a former community in Gaza's Gush Katif slate of Jewish towns, pitched a tent camp in a public park alongside a major Tel Aviv exit on Israel's main Ayalon Highway. Most residents of Hazani arrived at the camp in an effort to protest what they say is Israel's failure to organize suitable living accommodations for them after they were forced from their homes in Gaza last week. http://www.JewishWorldReview.com | I take no pleasure in saying it. It pains me to think it. I could very well lose my job in talk radio over admitting it. But it is the plain truth: Islam is a terror organization. For years, I've been trying to give the world's Muslim community the benefit of the doubt, along with the benefit of my typical-American's complete disinterest in their faith. Before 9/11, I knew nothing about Islam except the greeting "asalaam alaikum," taught to me by a Pakistani friend in Chicago. Immediately after 9/11, I nodded in ignorant agreement as President Bush assured me that "Islam is a religion of peace." Read More |
