Knesset Speaker Reuven Rivlin, once one of Ariel Sharon's most vocal supporters and closest confidantes, said Monday that the prime minister was displaying signs of "losing control.
"Today, he views everyone who opposes the so-called unilateral disengagement plan as a true rival, an enemy," Rivlin, a strong opponent of the pullout, said of Sharon.

"Of late, with regard to Ariel Sharon, I detect a degree of losing control," Rivlin told Army Radio.
"To my regret, the prime minister doesn't even know what's going to happen the day after [the disengagement] - politically or diplomatically," Rivlin said.
News reports have quoted Sharon as having obliquely referred to Rivlin as "a Knesset member who stands and shrieks against me, as though I, Ariel Sharon, was about to partition Jerusalem, even though he knows that's a lie. You can't just stand around all day and shriek."
