(IsraelNN.com) The worldwide movement against the Disengagement Plan is
calling upon people all around the world to conduct a demonstration at
6 PM Israel time Monday against the expulsion of nearly 10,000 Jews
from their homes and the creation of a terrorist state.
As motorists and business owners in Israel pull over and close their
shops at 6 PM, people of conscience worldwide are asked to close their
businesses, pull off the road, pause in their teaching, stand by their
desk where they are learning, walk outside their home and stand on the
sidewalk to demonstrate their opposition to the expulsion of Jews from
their eternal homeland.

![]() (IsraelNN.com) Hevron spokesman Noam Arnon, a friend of the Levi family, whose 17-year-old son Avichai was murdered while waiting for a ride Friday, placed responsibility for the boy's murder upon Prime Minister Ariel Sharon. "So that Sharon and his sons could stay out of jail he has abandoned the lives of our children," he said at the massive funeral for the boy. Read More

Thu Jun 16, 7:20 PM ET JERUSALEM, Jun 16 (IPS) - It might have been expected that Israel, not wanting to have pictures broadcast of Palestinians triumphantly entering the evacuated homes of settlers in the Gaza Strip, would want to demolish those homes. It might equally have been expected that the Palestinians, wanting to be seen marching into the homes of their retreating occupiers, would want the houses to remain intact. But the question of what to do with some 1,600 settler homes - inhabited by 7,500 settlers - that are to be evacuated in mid-August as a part of Prime Minister Ariel Sharon's disengagement plan has become an increasingly vexing one, for both Israel and the Palestinians. After initially signalling that the homes would be demolished to spare the settlers the sight of Palestinians entering their houses, Sharon recently indicated that the matter was still unresolved. The reason: the military has informed the Israeli leader that it opposes demolishing the homes because this would significantly increase the time it would take to complete the Gaza withdrawal and would expose soldiers to increased risk of attack from Palestinian militants. By Caroline B. Glick Can both Jerusalem and Washington really be that deep in denial? http://www.JewishWorldReview.com | During his meeting with US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice on Saturday, PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas told Rice that the PA had ceased all incitement activities against Israel. Yet on the same day that they met, the PA's official news service WAFA "reported" that Israelis were sending hordes of wild pigs to Palestinian villages around Hawarah village in the Nablus district to attack them and destroy their fields. ![]() The PA's official news service even interviewed Hawarah Mayor Mansour Dmaidi, who backed these ludicrous and incendiary statements. It is not surprising that Abbas brazenly lied to Rice about PA-sponsored incitement against Israel. After all, he lied to her about everything else. Most importantly, Abbas told Rice that he is opposed to terrorism. And yet, Abbas fervently supports terrorism. Read More

Some 63 Ethiopian citizens jailed in Israel for over one year filed an urgent appeal this week to the Tel Aviv Magistrates Court against a state order to deport them, fearing that they will be killed if they return to Ethiopia. The group is requesting to remain in Israel as long as there is a chance that Canada will comply with their request for asylum. The aforementioned Ethiopians arrived in Israel in 2004, some with tourist visas and some infiltrated from Egypt. According to the appeal, in Ethiopia they were students and their political activity was considered incitement against the government, and therefore they fear that they will be in danger if they return. In Israel, they appealed to the United Nations refugees office, and asked to be recognized as refugees, but their request was turned down. They were arrested, expulsion orders were issued, and they were jailed. Read More

Defense Minister Shaul Mofaz on Thursday ordered the army to prepare to handover additional West Bank cities to Palestinian Authority security control next week. According to Mofaz, the security establishment should be prepared to hand over Bethlehem next week, followed by Kalkilya the week after. At a meeting to asses the situation at his Tel Aviv headquarters this afternoon, Mofaz stressed the need for the Palestinians to disarm all fugitives and ensure they sign a pledge to refrain from terrorist activities. Mofaz also instructed the army and defense establishment to make the necessary preparations to demolish settlers houses in the Gaza Strip once they are evacuated in the upcoming disengagement. He noted that the Palestinians would be responsible for removing the wreckage from the area. Read More

June 21, 2005 Email this article Printer friendly page The REAL ID Act, signed into law by George W. Bush on May 11, created our country's first national identification card. The measure imposes federal standards on state driver’s licenses, and creates a huge central identification database — which will be shared by the governments of Mexico and Canada. The law also “gives authority to the Secretary of Homeland Security to unilaterally add requirements as he sees fit,” noted Rep. Ron Paul (R-Texas), an opponent of the act. Those requirements, in short order, will probably involve the use of “biometric identifiers,” such as retinal scans. Read More |
