Rep. Michael Burgess (R-TX) reports from the floor of the House that
the Republicans have been cut out of the process and called unpatriotic
for not blindly supporting the fraudulent bailout. He says the only
debate has been about what talking points to use on the American
people. The most ominous revelation is when he claims the Speaker has
declared martial law.
“I have been thrown out of more meetings in this capital in the last 24
hours than I ever thought possible, as a duly elected representative of
825,000 citizens of north Texas.” Said Congressman Burgess.

Contend administration proposal has 3 pitfalls
Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson At least 165 economists have signed a letter to Congress members warning of three pitfalls in the Bush administration's $700 billion proposal to deal with the Wall Street crisis. The economists say they are well aware of the current financial situation and agree there's a need for bold action but ask Congress "not to rush." They urge lawmakers to hold appropriate hearings and "to carefully consider the right course of action." Feds launch dragnet to stop 'October surprise' attack
Aafia Siddiqui, alleged al-Qaida "fixer" whose interrogation has the FBI on alert As Pakistani investigators hunt the terrorists behind the massive Marriott Hotel bombing in Islamabad, FBI agents in the U.S. have begun aggressively hunting for Americans who have recently returned from trips to Pakistan where they may have trained at al-Qaida camps, WND has learned. A coast-to-coast dragnet has been launched partly in response to leads developed in the arrest of one of al-Qaida's "fixers" in the U.S., say FBI officials. They report the bureau is in a race against time to identify Pakistan-trained sleeper cells and disrupt a possible pre-election "October surprise." Original Source more » Sunday, September 28

The opportunity of Rosh Hashana is too important to leave things to chance. Here's a handy checklist of what you'll need to know. PRE-ROSH HASHANA A key component of Rosh Hashana preparation is to ask for forgiveness from anyone one may have wronged during the previous year. To whatever extent possible, we want to begin the year with a clean slate -- and without anyone harboring a grudge against us. One should also be quick to forgive those who have wronged him. Many people have the custom to go to the mikveh before Rosh Hashana after midday. A mikveh, which has the power to purify from certain types of spiritual impurities, can be an important part of the teshuva process. Some have the custom of visiting a cemetery on the morning of Rosh Hashana and praying at the graves of the righteous. Of course, we do not pray "to" the righteous, but only to God who hears our prayers in the merit of the righteous. Original Source more » |
