View Article  How a Jewish ,patriot saved America and the ,fourth of July
In 1975 the United States Postal Department issued a stamp honoring a man named Haym Salomon for his contribution to the cause of the American Revolution. This stamp was uniquely printed on the front and the back. On the glue side of the stamp, the following words were printed in pale, green ink. “Financial Hero - Businessman and broker Haym Salomon was responsible for raising most of the money needed to finance the American Revolution and later to save the new nation from collapse.” I personally have one of these stamps. Historians who have studied the story of Haym Salomon all agree that without his “contribution to the cause” there would be no America today.
Haym Salomon bought and sold financial papers to raise money for Robert Morris who was the Superintendent of Finance for the Continental Congress. He believed that America would be a safe haven for the Jews. But this son of a rabbi also believed that one day in the future, Jerusalem would rise from the dust, the Jews would return to their ancient homeland, and Israel and Jerusalem would once again be the home of the wandering Jew. Salomon determined to do all that he could ...   more »
View Article  Exclusive: Squatters Ordered Off Stolen Jewish Land in Jerusalem
by Ezra HaLevi
(IsraelNN.com) A Jewish man has won a fifteen-year battle against Arab squatters who seized his land in southern Jerusalem. The police are supposed to restore the property to him Monday, by force if necessary.
Yitzchak Herskovitz fought in court against Arab squatters from Bethlehem for 15 years over his property. An initial victory was followed by an appeal, during which the squatters promised to pay him rent and later refused.
Police have now told Herskowitz he has one day to pay for police protection in order to remove the squatters and take control of his land, which is located on Jerusalem’s Derech Hevron Street, just past the Sonol station on the right, before the turn to Givat HaMatos and then to Gilo.
That day is this coming Monday, July 2.
The land was purchased from the estate of an Armenian Christian in 1972 by a Jewish man who lived in Los Angeles and bought it while visiting Israel. He sold it to Herskovitz, who researched the ownership and deeds extensively before buying the property in 1992.
An Arab from Bethlehem’s infamous Tamra clan invaded the property, which was unoccupied at the time by the owner, and moved ...   more »
View Article  Israel the enemy of the Palestinians, says Jordanian king
Helping to perpetuate Arab hatred of the Jewish state, Jordan's King Abdullah on Sunday referred to Israel as the enemy of the Palestinians.
In an interview with the Jordanian newspaper Al-Ghad, Abdullah said that all of the sloganeering and photo-ops ultimately mean nothing for the Palestinians because they “face a solid enemy that works according to programs and plans.”
The king went on to warn Israel that it will never have the peace and security it so desires unless it surrenders to the Arabs' land demands.
Jordan is typically viewed as the most moderate of Arab states and a true peace partner to Israel. However, its leaders have rarely shied away from vocalizing the general Arab position regarding Israel and its control of Judea and Samaria, which Jordan itself illegally occupied from 1948-1967.

View Article  Hamas Planned Attempt To Take Over Temple Mount Foiled
Shin Bet and Israel Police forces recently apprehended 11 members of Islamist group in capital. Security officials say Hamas looking to take advantage of Palestinians with Israeli identity cards to initiate subversive activity, plan future military operations
Shin Bet and Israel Police forces have recently apprehended 11 Hamas members in east Jerusalem, it was cleared for publication Monday.
The detainees, 10 of whom hold Israeli (blue) identification cards, recruited members on Hamas’ behalf for future military operations,
including on the Temple Mount, under the guise of social-religious activity.
In the past few years Hamas has secretly been working in east Jerusalem with the aim of bolstering its position in the capital. It has also been looking to garner support from the capital’s Palestinian residents, and present itself as an alternative to Israeli rule and recruit as many young men as possible.
A senior Shin Bet official said Hamas was trying to take advantage of the fact that Palestinians with blue identity cards were free to move about throughout Israel, as well having a good understanding of the Israeli mentality.
The Shin Bet’s surveillance of Hamas’ activity in Jerusalem revealed that the group was also providing help ...   more »

View Article  Interfaith Group Raising Funds for Bomb Shelters
IsraelNN.com) The International Fellowship of Christians and Jews has announced a fundraising drive to provide $11.5 million to upgrade bomb shelters along the confrontation line in the north and Sderot, according to a statement by the organization.
“At the request of Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert, and as the threat of war with Israel’s enemies looms, [the Fellowship] has stepped up efforts to restore and provide supplies for 2,523 private bomb shelters,” said the statement.
“The Israeli government has acknowledged that it cannot afford the necessary repair and upgrade of private bomb shelters,” it added. “Reports indicate that Iranian-backed Hizbullah has used the ceasefire…to fully re-arm in preparation for another attack.” The campaign is geared toward funding repairs to electricity and plumbing, floors, ceilings, bathrooms and major appliances, as well as purchasing furniture, medical supplies, and other items to install in the shelters.
