A private member's bill calling for the disengagement to be deferred
for a year is set to come before the Knesset in a preliminary reading
next Wednesday.
"The Likud ministers who have announced their opposition to the
disengagement can achieve great success with this vote if they
demonstrate personal and public courage," said MK Zevulun Orlev
(National Religious Party), who is sponsoring the bill.
If Orlev's bill is voted down in the preliminary reading, none of the
other MKs who have submitted similar bills will be able to bring their
bills for Knesset approval before the pullout begins.
