NEW YORK (CNN) -- Mexican President Felipe Calderon Sunday demanded the
United States surrender its sovereignty, abandon the rule of law and
accede to Mexico's inherent supremacy.
Lou Dobbs says Mexican President Felipe Calderon is showing "blatant
hypocrisy" on immigration.
In his state of the union address to the Mexican nation, Calderon
established his imperialistic imperatives: "I have said that Mexico
does not stop at its border, that wherever there is a Mexican, there is
Mexico. And, for this reason, the government action on behalf of our
countrymen is guided by principles, for the defense and protection of
their rights."
Calderon protested the U.S. government's increased raids on illegal
employers of illegal alien employees and work site enforcement. In what
is little more than a faint nod to the Bush administration's
responsibility to enforce U.S. immigration law, the Department of
Homeland Security had planned to send out notices to employers from the
Social Security Administration informing them of non-matching records
between an employee's name and Social Security number. These employers
would then be forced to resolve any discrepancy within 90 days or be
required to dismiss the employee or face up to $10,000 in fines for

A sharp drop in foreign holdings of US Treasury bonds over the last five weeks has raised concerns that China is quietly withdrawing its funds from the United States, leaving the dollar increasingly vulnerable. China threatens `nuclear option' of dollar sales Data released by the New York Federal Reserve shows that foreign central banks have cut their stash of US Treasuries by $48bn since late July, with falls of $32bn in the last two weeks alone. "This comes as a big surprise and it is definitely worrying," said Hans Redeker, currency chief at BNP Paribas. "We won't know if China is behind this until the Treasury releases its TIC data in November, but what it does show is that world central banks are in a hurry to get out of the US. They don't seem to be switching into other currencies, so it is possible they are moving into gold instead. Gold is now gaining momentum across all currencies and has broken through resistance at 500 euros," he said. While the greenback has been resilient over recent weeks - even regaining something of a 'safe-haven' role as banks scrambled to buy the currency to cover dollar debts ... more »

DEVELOPING STORY: Federal counterterrorism officials are analyzing a
posting on an Islamic forum Web site that warns of "a special gift" to
be given on the sixth anniversary of Sept. 11, FOX News has learned.
The warning was posted Sept. 2 on a site frequented by radical groups and said in part that "there will be a special gift coming on the day of the blessed invasion of Manhattan." Federal officials told FOX News they are trying to determine if it might be a specific warning or just part of broad chatter that has been heard during the last few months. Postings talking about "gifts" have been seen before in the days leading up to the anniversary of Sept. 11. This story will be updated. Original Source more »

Lawyers say state 'cannot unreasonably interfere with philosophies'
California Lutheran High School's gym A team of Christian lawyers is arguing before a California court that Christian schools have every right to expel students who violate standards of Christian behavior, such as by allegedly engaging in homosexual activities. The lawyers from the Christian Legal Society and the Alliance Defense Fund are asking permission for the Association of Faith-Based Organizations to be added to a lawsuit over that issue. They say the result of the case against California Lutheran High School could affect the rights of members of the organization. Parents of the two expelled students are suing the Christian school, alleging a violation of California's "sexual orientation" anti-discrimination laws. "Christian schools have the right to make admissions and disciplinary decisions consistent with their Christian beliefs," said Timothy J. Tracey, a litigation counsel for the CLS. "To subject Christian schools to liability under the California anti-discrimination laws for expelling students who engage in homosexual conduct flatly violates this right." The parents of the students allege the Christian school is engaging in "sexual orientation" discrimination in violation of state laws. AFBO wants to intervene on behalf of a coalition of Christian schools to ... more » |
