Frontpage Interviews guest today is Jeffrey M. Epstein, the President of America’s Truth Forum. Mr. Epstein and his organization will be hosting the Exposing the Threat of Islamist Terrorism symposium on February 2, 2008 at the Ranch of the Lonesome Dove in Southlake , Texas .
FP: Jeffrey M. Epstein, welcome to Frontpage Interview.
Epstein: Thank you, Jamie. I sincerely appreciate the opportunity to discuss our mission – that is, educating America to the radical Islamist threat. Never before has our nation been infiltrated to this extent nor have we acquiesced, to this degree, in the face of such a determined and menacing enemy.
FP: Tell us about this symposium coming up. Who will be attending?
Epstein: First off, I’d like to announce that nationally-syndicated talk show host Roger Hedgecock recently joined our team and will be presenting in Dallas . Roger has a clear understanding of the subject matter, shares our concern for national security, and is looking forward to working with the other panelists.
America’s Truth Forum, in association with the Basics Project, produces conferences across the country which provide the public, as well as government agencies, with the opportunity to gather first-hand, fact-based knowledge from internationally renowned experts, researchers, authors and operatives on the subject of the threat of global terrorism. In 2006, we produced two critically acclaimed symposiums on the underlying roots of terrorism and specifically, the threat of Islamist terrorism to the United States and the world. Among the seventeen speakers assembled, those attending heard from former CIA Director James Woolsey, David Horowitz , Dr. Harvey Kushner , Wafa Sultan, Dr. Whalid Phares, former PLO operative Whalid Shoebat, Kenneth Timmerman (Nobel Prize nominee), Dr. Bruce Tefft, Dr. Paul Williams, Hamid Mir, Joe Kaufman, Laura Mansfield, Jim Gilchrist and Richard Miniter.
Those events were attended by representatives from government agencies, the military, law enforcement, the counter-terrorism community, the first responder community and the general public. The critique from everyone who attended was so overwhelmingly positive that we have scheduled a third symposium to take place on February 1st and 2nd in Dallas , Texas .
Once again, we have assembled many of the same panel of globally recognized, counter-terrorism experts but have added a few more including Atty. David Schippers (former Chief Investigative Counsel for the US House Judiciary Committee, author & counter-terrorism expert); Frank Gaffney (Founder & President of the Center for Security Policy); Caroline Glick (Deputy Managing Editor, Jerusalem Post); and David Harris ( former Chief of Strategic Planning for the Canadian Security Intelligence Service – “CSIS”).
At the Dallas symposium, David Schippers intends to address the Islamic connection to the 1995 bombing of the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma City – a tragic event that cost the lives of 168 innocent American men, women and Children; Frank Gaffney will expose the infiltration of Washington by the pro-jihadist lobby; and Caroline Glick will discuss the terrorist threat to Israel and the United States with emphasis on Iran’s quest for nuclear weaponry.
FP: How is your group doing in general about trying to get the word out about the threat we face? How does the mainstream media treat you?
Epstein: In keeping with expectations, it’s been an uphill battle all the way. Mainstream media conduits refuse to run our Advertisements and PSA’s. Network station managers prohibit their talk show hosts from attending and / or participating at our events. National billboard companies won’t accept paid advertising unless graphics are sanitized to exclude 9 / 11 photos and references to either “Islamist-inspired” terrorism or the encroachment of Sharia law. So it comes as no surprise, that National and local news services, including television, radio and print media outlets, continue to ignore requests for event coverage. Lastly, several hundred major American corporations have shown no interest in educating America to the threat of domestic terrorism and view it as a “non-issue”.
Fortunately, we’ve made significant progress within the religious community. During the year, we spoke in a number of churches and found congregations to be receptive to the message and hungry for the truth. However, due to the myopic tendencies of their leadership, we’ve experienced no success in our dealings with the Jewish community. National Jewish organizations continue to act in ways reminiscent of their predecessors during the Nazi era – meaning they chose to cower in fear and / or acquiesce in the face of this very “real” threat rather than confronting it in earnest. Under the guise of promoting multi-faith dialogue to achieve peace, the ADL, Federations, JCC, JCRC, Hillel, and other Jewish organizations are placing innocents at greater risk. Arguably, they’ve been blinded by their quest for acceptance from the enemy camp – which renders them incapable of being receptive to the cold-hard facts. By bridging relationships with disingenuous individuals and organizations, they are doing much to block potentially life-saving information from reaching the communities that they represent.
FP: What do you think of the average citizens interest? In general, do you find people are aware or apathetic? Why?
Epstein: The greatest challenge facing us, and placing our nation in harm’s way, is citizens’ apathy. As it has been said so many times before, “ America is at the mall”. Unfortunately, that’s precisely where they might hit us. Osama bin Laden promised his followers at least two more attacks on American soil with each proving more dramatic and costly than 9 / 11 - the second being bio / chemical and the third, nuclear. A Saudi cleric from the religion of “rest in peace” granted Osama bin Laden permission to kill 10 million Americans including 2 million children. It’s no secret that a number of federal agencies (including DHS) have made preparations for dealing with the aftermath of a nuclear holocaust. Earlier in the month, I presented before a small gathering on Capital Hill. My address was followed by a retired Air Force General who shed much light on the present nuclear threat facing America . He pegged the probability of simultaneous nuclear detonations, within the next five years, at close to one-hundred percent. Perhaps, chilling information of this nature is just too horrific or disturbing for the average citizen to contemplate. Most Americans were raised to respect and appreciate religious differences and boundaries. Therefore, the idea of subjecting Islamic institutions to investigation and scrutiny, regardless of national security interests, goes against their core beliefs and principles. Given the immensity of the threat that we’re all facing, they need to realize that we’re not fighting a conventional war against a readily identifiable enemy. The consequences of not taking necessary and appropriate actions, to protect upcoming generations, are unfathomable. Needless to say, those who choose to remain apathetic toward, or ignorant of, the savagery associated with the Islamist threat are in for a rude awakening.
FP: Let’s talk about the Muslim Brotherhood. What are their objectives toward the West and their successes on our soil?
Epstein: The Muslim brotherhood or Ikhwan, a sinister society with far reaching tentacles, infiltrated the United States in the 1960’s. It should be noted that most Islamic terrorist groups including al Qaeda and Hamas were spawned by the Muslim Brotherhood. The Ikhwan, with an established presence in over 70 countries, has targeted the world, including Israel , Europe and the United States, for Islamic conquest and domination. Their mission is to establish a Muslim Caliphate in servitude to Allah. A partial list of known degenerates radicalized by the Ikhwan would include Osama bin Laden’s deputy, Ayman Zawahiri: the blind Sheik who was convicted for his role in the 1993 WTC bombing, Omar Abdel Rahman; and the architect of the 9 / 11 attacks, Khalid Sheik Mohammed.
The Brotherhood’s stated approach to conquering the United States is through dawah – Islamic renewal and outreach. Their program titled, ‘Ikhwan in America ’ details a 20-point plan though which they intend to replace our Republic with an Islamist state ruled by Sharia law. A key excerpt of the plan reads: The process of settlement is a ‘Civilization-Jihadist process’. The Ikhwan must understand that their work in America is a kind of grand Jihad in eliminating and destroying the Western Civilization from within and ‘sabotaging’ its miserable house by their hands and the hands of the believers so that it is eliminated and God’s religion is made victorious over all other religions.
Covertly, through its network of affiliated organizations, the Brotherhood conducts paramilitary training – that’s right, they provide survival classes and weapons training to their loyal followers on our soil - thereby, honing the destructive skills of those intending to do us grievous harm through violent Jihad. The Muslim Students Association or MSA, a menacing Wahabbist wing of the Ikhwan, has established branches on hundreds of college campuses across America . Thousands of Saudi funded, hate-infused mosques were also constructed due to their efforts. The National MSA’s online journal (publication #17) instructs its student members to learn survival skills and secure firearms training. The directive goes on to state that if such training is unavailable or cost prohibitive, Muslim students should take up paintball which it advocates as an excellent way to learn about combat. It’s far from coincidence that the Virginia Jihad Network, the 7 / 7 London bombers, the Fort Dix Six, the foiled London 21 / 7 bombers, the Toronto 17, and many other terrorist cells have engaged in paramilitary training with paintball.
FP: What would you say the significance of your symposium is?
Epstein: Our educational symposiums fill a major void by facilitating the dissemination of critical information that is not readily available, via conventional channels, to the law enforcement / counter-terrorism communities and concerned citizens. These events provide unprecedented opportunities for attendees to gather first-hand, fact-based information from recognized authorities, network with other patriotic Americans, and interact directly with world-renown experts. Perhaps of greater significance, the symposium series facilitates not only the education of the public and the private sectors, but it also affords a forum in which the participating counter-terrorism experts can exchange ideas, develop theories and formulate solutions they can then advance to our government and the defenders of freedom throughout the world.
We’re appealing to those individuals who share our patriotism, values, and concerns to be in attendance. The freedoms that we all hold as sacrosanct are threatened and our country -- as well as the legacy we will leave our children and our children’s children -- is under siege. We simply cannot afford to turn a blind eye to this looming danger. If we fail to take the appropriate actions now, the next generations -- our children -- will be left to carry on the battle against an even stronger and more dedicated foe, an evil whose flame we failed to extinguish. Our legacy should be one of bravely confronting our adversaries, of diligently defending what is rightfully ours. Our actions need to serve as motivating examples for future generations, instilling in them the proclivity to stand resolute in the face of evil.
Since a cadre of Islamic terror organizations not only declared “Holy War” against us but dispatched assassins to our front doors, every able-bodied citizen should consider joining us in Dallas . For those that are geographically restricted, donations are being encouraged to subsidize admission for law enforcement agents and local college students. Remember that as the clock approaches high noon, the bells toll for thee.
